(Concord, NH) - As part of Rail Safety Week, New Hampshire Operation LIfesaver will join with Police in Dover, Exeter, Greenland, Newton and Wilton today to raise awareness of the need for caution near railroad grade crossings and train tracks.

Crossing enforcement and execises will take place at the Central Avenue crossing in Dover as well as crossings on Front Street in Exeter, Route 33 in Greenland, West Main Street in Newton and on Burns Hill Road in Wilton.

Federal statistics show that about every three hours in the United States, a person or vehicle is hit by a train.
