A Maine Pup Needs Surgery Because Humans Used Her For Dog Fighting

A sweet dog named Nika needs our help. She must have surgery on her ear canal because of extensive damage from her life as a bait dog in dog fights, according to the GoFundMe page that was created for her by Hope Staples-Chancey. Hope is organizing this fundraiser for Nika's human mother, Nadine Molloy, who adopted Nika and gave her a new life. Molloy says Nika is in a lot of pain. Veterinarians at Back Cove Animal Hospital in Portland, Maine reportedly think that Nika's infections and abscesses are due to a "bone or tooth fragment from the bites she endured when she was used as a bait dog." She may also have an inner ear injury. Nika's surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday. The estimate for her surgery is between $4,834.77 to $5,761.27, as shown in the picture of the receipt below.
