There are infinite reasons to love the holidays. Among the top 5 of many would be Christmas candy. Less predictable than Valentine's Day candy, and not as bulky as Halloween candy, this season brings a fresh wave of cold air, and possibly snow to go along with the treats...
Trick or treating just isn't what it used to be. I remember going to what seemed like a hundred houses and being out until ten at night. It seemed like thousands of kids would come knocking on your door for candy, and Halloween was only one night. Things have changed.
So last night my daughter went out trick or treating for the very first time and she didn't bring me home enough candy. She doesn't eat candy at her age, so I was planning on eating it all, and I think she knew that. She wasn't very interested in grabbing as many sweets as she could, she just wanted to hop around in her costume. She was a strawberry.
One of my favorite things about the holiday season is sweets. I'm talking cookies, candy, cakes and pies. I can't get enough, and I don't limit myself this time of year.
