Happy Mother's Day to all Moms! I've been wondering what record was highest selling in the year of my birth (1973) and the answer is right out of The Twilight Zone.

Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree - by Tony Orlando and Dawn

This tune dominated pop radio for much of 1973 charting as NUMBER ONE for 4 consecutive weeks in April and May, exactly 45 years ago.

It is such a weird coincidence that Tony Orlando will be co-hosting 'The Lost 45's' with Barry Scott for three hours starting at 9pm on Mother's Day night!

Also, I couldn't help but notice this very touching comment on the YouTube post that fits this Mom's Day theme PERFECTLY.

When I went away to college, I really missed home. We had a hackberry tree in our front yard. The first time I came home, my mom had tied yellow ribbons around it and the bushes in our yard. This song always brings back that memory. No matter how old I live to be, that's one of my most favorite memories. Thanks Tony---and Mama.
Happy Mother's Day!
