If you, like me, have always wanted a horse, but you don't have a barn or a stable, now is your chance to be important in the life and care of these majestic animals.

According to the Friends of the Dover Mounted Police Facebook page, they are looking for help taking care of Dover's beloved horses, CJ & Rasa.

I emailed Officer Michelle Murch who you may have seen riding CJ in Downtown Dover.  She said in her email that they are looking for volunteers with experience and no, you can't feed the horses treats without the officers permission.  (That goes back to when I tried to feed them an apple without permission.  That's a no-no.)

Here's her post:

Do you have horse handling/care experience? Do you LOVE CJ & RASA?  Do you have 2-4 hours a month free?
Are you looking to volunteer somewhere? LOOK NO FURTHER!  We are accepting volunteer applications!
If you are interested please email Officer Murch at m.murch@dover.nh.gov for more info and an application!
You MUST be experienced and comfortable around large horses independently, you must be at LEAST 16 years old, you must be reliable and willing to work in all types of weather and be able to lift and carry bales of hay.
Thank you for constant support!

Also, the Dover Mounted Patrol is a 501C3 non-profit, so if you don't have the time or knowledge, you can make a cash donation instead!

Thank you for supporting the Dover Mounted Police!
