Firefighters from Strafford County and beyond responded to two building fires within approximately 15 hours of each other.

Fire broke out at a building on North East Pond Road in Milton around 3 a.m. that went to four alarms, according to Wakefield Fire and Rescue. Firefighting efforts lasted into the early morning hours to bring the blaze under control and put out hot spots.

Milton Fire-Rescue has not yet disclosed details of the fire.

Many of the same fire companies had responded to a fire on Watson Road in Dover in an attached garage around 11:30 a.m. late Tuesday morning.

Fire chief Michael McShane told Seacoast Current that the flames spread to the house, the surrounding woods, and a vehicle. The fire was declared under control at 1:17 p.m..

One firefighter was injured in the fire and taken to a hospital for an evaluation. No residents or pets were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Dover Fire & Rescue, NH State Fire Marshal Office, and Dover Police Dept.

"The information we received regarding how the fire started was inconsistent, so we are taking a closer look at it to assure we accurately identify the cause and origin of the fire," McShane said.

Somersworth, Durham, Portsmouth, Rochester, Rollinsford, Newington, South Berwick, Newmarket, Berwick, and York Village Fire rehab all responded to the fire.
