If you accessed Macy's or Bloomingdale's between April 26 and June 11, you may have had your data compromised.

According to WMUR, several hundred New Hampshire consumers were affected in a data breach.  Macy’s security officials said that hackers gained access to online accounts for not only Macy's, but Bloomingdale's between April 26 and June 11. Quick action was taken, as once security was able to locate the source, they blocked it. Those who were affected also saw their profiles froze. In addition, officials purged all payment card data from those accounts and blocked the profiles until customers changed their passwords.

WMUR reported  that Macy’s said consumers who used a Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover were affected. Officials said the majority of the profiles had data for Macy’s store credit cards, too.

To make things right with those affected, the company is offering free identity theft monitoring services. Plus, customers are encouraged to monitor their credit activity over the next few months and report any suspicious items.
