Much Loved Dover New Hampshire Store Closing at the End of September
After 21 Years, the Dover Agway is Closing
Recently, there was a post on the (un)Official City of Dover Facebook page had a post a little while ago that said the Dover Agway was closing, so I called the store to make sure it was true and, unfortunately, it is.
The Owners are Retiring
I spoke with Paul Welch, the owner, who said they were closing at the end of September. It didn't have anything to do with COVID, it was just time. I asked him if they were going to Florida and he said no, they were not going to Florida. Seemed like a perfectly reasonable question to ask since when I growing up, that's what you did. You worked your whole life, set roots in a particular part of New England, then you leave. Not Paul and his wife, Teri. Paul said he was born and raised here and has no plans on leaving. Good to know. Paul and Teri said they have been keeping the store open for the community for 21 years.
Alice Will Be Missed
Customers will miss seeing Alice who often greeted the customers coming into the store. When I was talking to Teri from the store, she said that they also have a cockatiel named Tweedy that people will miss too. Tweedy has been at the store for as long as they have.
Time To Spend With Grandbabies
Teri told me that they want to spend more time with their Grandchildren and who wouldn't want that. Especially with this face! Paul and Teri have 4 children and 4 grandbabies.
You can say your goodbyes to them in person before they go. They are at 25 Central Avenue in Dover, New Hampshire. I gotta go see this girl for at least one more time.
