Time to get into the holiday spirit! Portsmouth's Holiday Parade and Food Drive is this Saturday!

It all starts at 5PM with the Holiday Tree lighting ceremony in Market Square. The Portsmouth Middle School Band will play holiday music and the tree will be lit at 5:30PM followed by the parade at 6PM.

According to Seacoast Online,

Mayor Robert Lister has named Vernis Jackson and the city’s African Burying Ground Committee and volunteers as grand marshals. The theme of the parade will be “unity,” honoring the completion of the African Burying Ground Memorial Park and the committee’s efforts to bring together citizens and enable new conversations in the community.

Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated, volunteers will be collecting contributions in shopping carts.

December 6th is the make up date if the weather is bad on Saturday.
