NH Free Fishing Day Is Saturday June 6th
It's ALWAYS the first Saturday in June but I have to think after months spent indoors, this year will be more successful than ever. Here's what you need to know.
NH FREE FISHING DAY
I knew that this day existed but this is the first year that I realized that "Free" means both freshwater AND saltwater.
I always thought you needed a passport, a blood test and a notarized document from the Gorton's Fisherman himself to go saltwater fishing, that is not the case!
YOU CAN BE FROM OUT OF STATE
Do you live in Maine or Massachusetts? Head on over! And once again, that goes for all inland lakes or ponds, rivers or streams AND saltwater!
THINK YOU CAUGHT A KEEPAH?
Not so fast. Just because it's a special day doesn't mean you can 'go willy nilly'. There are a lot of regulations to be aware of that not only specify how many fish you can keep, but the appropriate size of the caught fish that you are allowed to keep.
There are just as many rules as there are for 'every fish in the sea' so make sure you don't break them and end up ruining what should be a great day.
To read through all the regulations, check out the links provided by the State .
I haven't fished since the 1980's up at Province Lake and I have to be honest, watching North Woods Law has really given me the urge to grab that old 1983 Zebco and drop the bobbah back in the pond!
